Our Welcome to RVing

Before we started RVing, Allen wasn’t sure if he could live in such a small space so we rented a vintage RV down in Borrego Springs which is only a couple hours drive south of Long Beach. This was our first time staying in an RV and an RV park.

We rented Blue Bertha which had been fully restored. While it was still an older camper, it had all the modern necessities such as refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, bathroom, shower, flush toilet, and a double bed.

We enjoyed it so much that we went another couple of times before we purchased our own RV. We knew that Blue Bertha was a bit small for us to live in full-time, but we enjoyed the time we spent with her. We knew we wanted something a little larger and newer as we didn’t want to deal with restoring an RV or the cost of a fully restored RV.

While we love our 42-foot 2020 Grand Design Solitude 375RES, Blue Bertha will always have a special place in our hearts even though she isn’t ours.
