We’re finally on the road full-time!!
We left our home in Bellflower in January 2023 and the Palm Springs Joshua Tree KOA was our first stop. Since this was the first time Allen had towed the 5th-wheel, we decided to stop after traveling for a few hours in case it was very stressful. When we departed Bellflower, it was drizzling with rain, but that didn’t seem to cause any problems.
Before the trip, Allen had been very nervous as it had been many years since he had towed anything, but the drive was easier than expected as the F-450 made the job a lot easier. The truck’s ability to tow the 5th-wheel without much effort amazed us. It has a towing capacity of over 31,000 pounds. For reference, our RV weighs about half of that, so the truck has plenty of towing capacity, braking power, and torque.
